Police in Wealdstone carried out a series of late-night patrols after residents raised concerns about gang-related activity and antisocial behaviour in the town centre.
The operation, known as ‘Nebrya’, focused on Wealdstone High Street and nearby areas during the late evening.
During the patrols, officers arrested a prolific shoplifter linked to the theft of more than £350 worth of goods from Boots on Wealdstone High Street. The suspect was also found in possession of Class A drugs. Following enquiries, the individual was charged and remanded to court.
Officers also made two further arrests during the operation. One person was arrested for breaching bail conditions, while another was arrested for failing to appear at court.
Police also issued multiple warnings for antisocial behaviour, aimed at tackling conduct that had been causing concern for local residents.
Acting Police Sergeant Alex Rose said: “Local Policing Teams will continue to carry out targeted, intelligence-led patrols in key hotspots during both day and night, offering continued reassurance to residents and ensuring swift action is taken against those involved in crime or disorder.”
